CS: GO is short for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It is a shooting game that is considered competitive.
Talking about the most recent release in the Counter-Strike series, it is the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It has generated a lot of buzz and has grabbed the attention of an average of 11 million users per month since its launch in 2012.
CS: GO was released on many platforms like Windows, OS X, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. Though, the professionals prefer to use PC to enjoy playing this game better.
The CS: GO functions by pitching two teams comprising of five players each. Both teams are assigned particular objectives as well to win. One time is given the role of terrorists (Ts) while another group opposes this team by adapting counter-terrorists (CTs). It has different modes for games as well, but the competitive players prefer the five-on-five method.
In the five-on-five mode, the objective of the terrorist team is to plant and detonate a bomb in a particular location. In place of this objective, they can kill all the counter-terrorists to win. The counter-terrorists purpose is opposite to that of terrorists. They have to either defuse the bomb or kill all five terrorists.
There are 30 rounds in one match, and each game lasts a maximum of 1 minute and 55 seconds. The team to win the first 16 rounds is declared the winner of the game.
There is an in-game currency system that is rewarded to players when they win rounds, kill enemies, or successfully use certain weapons. Gamers can spend these dollars on upgrading their weaponry by purchasing new guns and grenades to improve their chances of winning matches. You can also save your customizations by CSGO: Autoexec.
CG: put an end to its Operation Broken Fang recently. When purchased by the players, this operation gave them access to rewards such as all new agents, collections of weapons, specialized broken fang weapon cases, and much more. Access to discontinuous fang mode along with the operation stats page is also included. Furthermore, XP boosts are also given after completing missions.
This Counter-Strike Global Offensive ended Operation Broken Fang recently. When the announcement for further changes at the end of operation came, many CSGO fans were unhappy. The statement conveyed the release of an in-game stat tracking system.
It was a popular feature that accompanied the Operation Broken Fang called CG: GO 360 stats. It kept track of players’ performance across different competitive modes of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
The players expected that this feature would end with the end of Operation Broken Fang, but the twist came when Valve revealed that this feature would remain in the game, but it comes with a subscription fee.
The cost of the stats system for the players interested is $0.99 per month. It will accommodate all the competitive mode stats and the in-match Round Win Chance reports of the player. Players, who bought the Operation Broken Fang while it was active, will have their stats from the season carry over with the subscription continued.
The matches played will not be tracked for other players lacking active subscriptions, even if they resubscribe later.
This new update has become a center of controversy and unhappiness for players who have closely followed Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Few fans didn’t hesitate to voice their objections about the new fee for subscription in the game stat tracking system. They even have theories that Valve may start implementing similar subscription services for its other popular MOBA Dota 2, known as Dotaplus as well.
Many other fans feel they were agitated that they could expect them to pay $0.99 per month when their stat-tracking system isn’t finely detailed compared to other multiple third-party sites, which are free for all players.
There was even frustration that they had discontinued many features like new maps and improved anti-cheat measures, which were a part of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and are
not included with the subscription.
It makes the fans glad that Valve is continuing to make the game better and updates, but they need to find a way to make the new services appealing and convincing for the upset fans. Here’s to hoping that CS: GO will bring better and more unique features that will be met with a warmer and more fabulous welcome.
